The Tacoma Community Center, nestled in the Appalachian mountains along The Crooked Road, presents a traditional music show every Saturday that features Bluegrass, Old Time or Traditional Country music. Musicians and bands are from the Coalfield region of Southwest Virginia.

The show starts at 7 PM and ends about 10:30 PM. This show has been held each week for about 10 years. The Tacoma Community Center is located in the old Tacoma School which is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places as well as the Virginia registry.

The ampitheatre is located in the Jerome Street Historic District of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. It seats approximately 350-400 people. The Crooked Road comes to Coeburn every Friday night at the Historic Lays Building in downtown. Local groups entertain and provide music to "shake a leg" to on the dance floor. Informal jams are also held on Thursday evenings. Hours Thursday and Friday: 6:00-11:00 pm.
Special events are also held some Saturdays.

One of the eight major venues on the Crooked Road-Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, the original Country Cabin was built in 1937-38 with the encouragement of local musician Kate O’Neil Peters Sturgill, a ballad singer and songwriter. Country Cabin II was built in 2002 to accommodate larger audiences and to host a wider variety of programs. In addition to clogging classes, the site continues to host local musicians and bands performing bluegrass, country and old-time music throughout the year every Saturday night from 8-11 p.m, as well as the annual Dock Boggs Festival. The Country Cabin with its descendant, Country Cabin II, are the oldest currently operating site for traditional music in the Heart of Appalachia.
