Referred to as "American's Crown Jewel," "One of the last places in the U.S. worth protecting," by The Nature Conservancy the Clinch Valley is a nature lover's and photographer's dream. The Clinch River itself is home to about 50 species of mussels (29 globally rare), which is more than any other river in the world. The variety of sport fishes make the Clinch a great destination for anglers. Many game fish species that have been stocked into other Virginia rivers are native to the Clinch.
