Every year the town of St. Paul comes alive with the flavors of the region during Clinch River Days. Highlights: river and railroad lore and history; photography; symphony and bluegrass; carnival rides and games; educational wetlands; nature walks, mussel walks, birding walks, & canoeing; live music; car shows; contests; and samplings from local vineyards. Celebrate a scenic river that is home to rare & endangered fresh water mussels & more varieties of fish than any river in Virginia. One of Virginia's newest designated bird and wildlife regions. Schedule a canoe trip, take in a fishing demonstration, or hike on the eight miles of maintained trails along the Clinch River. Nearby is Lake Estonoa, a nationally acclaimed student-based wetlands and outdoor educational center.

Music festival held the first weekend in August presented in honor of The Original Carter Family, the first family of country music, and commemorating the historic 1927 Bristol Recording Sessions.
Gates open Friday at 3:00 PM and Saturday at Noon.
Visit the Carter Family Museum in the old general store building and the recently restored original cabin that was the birthplace of A.P. Carter.

The 35th annual event is being held the second Saturday in September in downtown Bluefield, VA. Vendors set up with crafts, food, and fun. Music ,events and rides for big and small, a Classic Car Show, 5K Deer Walk/Run are just a few of the activities that day.
Other Special Events During the Day Include: 3-D Archery Shoot & Black Powder Shoot-off 8 to Noon at Graham Rec. Park, Apple Butter at Ebenezer Methodist Church, Cake Walk, Tractor Hay Ride, Art Contest, Essay Contest, Bingo for Cancer & Drug Abuse, & Amateur Photography Contest.
Fireworks concludes the events at 9:30 pm.

Annual Wise County Famous Fall Fling
Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, and on the Crooked Road, Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, Wise is "the place to be" during the second weekend each October.
Held downtown and on the lawn of the historic courthouse while fall color is at its peak, the event features over 150 vendors selling crafts, food, jewelry, and more, while live traditional music ranging from banjos to bagpipes is played.
The Fall Fling also features essay, photo and art contests, a chili cook-off and a 5 K race.
