A re-enactment of an encounter in the late 18th century when there was a clash of cultures as settlers intruded on Native American hunting grounds on the western frontier. The 2-day event allows visitors to visit the blockhouse, encampments of both Native Americans and settlers and to see demonstrations of various aspects of life on the frontier. On Saturday there is a night battle and campfire storytelling. Sunday activities include a frontier worship service and social.

Immerse yourself into autumn along 18th-century Virginia frontier folk at Historic Martin's Station. Winter's coming, and settlers at Martin's Station must gather crops and get ready. Even while preparing for winter, they took time to enjoy the fall with frolic, music and more. Admission is $5 per person, $3 per child (6-12 years).

Appalachian craft-makers fill the lawn of the Karlan mansion with their wares as bluegrass music dances on the air. The always popular Children's Festival offers young ones the chance to enjoy games, crafts, activities, Karen the Clown and a puppet show. The sweet smell of home cooking by vendors will make your visit pleasurable. Admission is $5 per person, $1 per child (6-12 years).
