"Wild Blue Yonder" will be playing at the national park campground amphitheater at 8PM on May 25th.  Memorial Day weekend presents a delightful time to visit scenic Lee County and Cumberland Gap National Historical Park on the borders of Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee.  East Tennessee's folk/Americana band "Wild Blue Yonder" kicks off the Memorial Day weekend as they take to the stage with its straight ahead bluegrass pickin', edgy pop-grass arrangements and homespun story songs. The band has been a regional favorite since its 2001 inception. The program will take place at Wilderness Road Campground amphitheater at 8:00 p.m. In case of rain, the program will be in the visitor center auditorium.  Cumberland Gap National Historical Park offers camping, hiking, cave tours, breathtaking overlooks, and stunning scenery.  The luscious green colors and abundant wildflowers in the month of May make for a delightful Springtime get-away weekend.  Welcome to Lee County, Virginia!

Kick off the event on Thursday with a Gallery Reception at the RR Museum featuring renouned artist Nadya Warthen-Gibson and a concert on the lawn and local wine tastings. Friday, starting at 5pm, are guided caving trips, gallery showings, Main Event Wrestling, craft & food vending, rock climbing wall for kids, wine tent, contests, fabulous music, dance party, games, amusements, kid's train rides and more. Cliffhanger Ranch Adventure Outpost has partnered with several nearby events in celebration of the American Hiking Society's 20th Annual National Trails Day. The event will be held in Coeburn from Friday, June 1 thru Sunday, June 3. It is centrally located with three Trails Day events: a Little Stoney horseback ride, a Guest River Gorge walk/hike with the town of Coeburn and a Clinch Coalition hike down the Chief Venge trail. Cliffhanger Ranch will offer primitive camping, limited bike rental, kayak rental, a professional bull whip artist show, bonfires and a cowboy church on Sunday at 11am. And, if that's not enough, come to see "the Generalo Lee."  Yeee Haaa!!!  

Local sponsors include Clinch Valley Outfitters, bull whip artist Rich Hoffman, Spearhead Trailblazers and others.

So, bring your tents, your horses, bikes, kayaks and hiking shoes for a fun-filled weekend. There will be food & fun available all weekend so don't miss out.
