Hidden Valley is located off of Route 58 between Hansonville and Abingdon. A hidden gem in the Heart of Appalachia, there are plenty of adventures to find in this beautiful spot. Bring your boat, or just enjoy a picnic along the lake shore, either way, you will sure find your own Appalachian adventure.
The sandstone cliff band at Hidden Valley ranges up to about 70 feet high. The climbing is mostly face climbing, with some large roofs, corners and aretes thrown in for good measure. Most of the 200 or so routes are sport climbs with a handful of trad and mixed routes. Grades range from 5.5 to 5.13, with a large number of 5.10s, 5.11s and 5.12s.
The lake covers 61 acres and is perfect for fishing, kayaking, and camping with the appropriate permits.
