Mountain View, Spearhead’s first and longest trail system, has expanded to over 100 tree-lined miles, with 10 miles of dedicated single track for dirt bikes. This system has a nice mix of green, blue, and black trails, great views and fun for all. The trailhead is located in the ATV-friendly town of St. Paul, where you can ride your OHV to your room, the store, to get gas or food, and to the world-famous Clinch River. With the newly opened trailhead in ATV-friendly Coeburn, there’s even more to do and see on and off the trails.
Plan to ride more than one day… there’s your style of lodging right in St. Paul and camping at the trailhead. Consider St. Paul Suites & Cottages or Mountain View Lodge for all the comforts of home. If you travel with your comforts in tow, both tent and RV sites are available at Ridge Runner Campground and Maggie Way RV Park.
Spearhead Trails is known for uniquely different, challenging off-road experiences, but not just the motor-driven type. Whether your pleasure is hiking, biking, horseback riding or OHV, there is a trail ready to be explored. There are many equestrian trails from High Knob to Wilderness Road… from Pine Mountain to the Scott County Horse Park organized trail rides. For all things outdoor adventure, there’s no question that Heart of Appalachia is YOUR destination of choice.
