Wilderness Road Trail

Wilderness Road State Park is a 310 acre park in Lee County, the westernmost county in the Commonwealth.  The State Park offers many options for outdoor recreation including the 8.9 mile Wilderness Road Trail that links to more than 50 miles of trails in Cumberland Gap National Historical Park.

Visitors can hike, bike or horseback ride the Rails to Trails route.  The park also rents bicycles to those who want to explore.  Guests also enjoy the park’s picnic shelters, 100-seat amphitheater, nature play-scape, ADA-certified playground, sand volleyball court and horseshoe pits.

The park also has the Indian Ridge Trail, which is a self-guided trail, and offers interpretive and environmental educational programs. The 1870s era mansion is available for weddings and meetings.  The center also has a frontier museum and a gift shop with unique regional gifts.
