The Mountain Misfits Theatre Company is a professional regional traveling theatre, covering the heart of Appalachia. We develop and perform high quality theatrical plays by Appalachians for Appalachians. We aim to create a place for our local artists of all types to be paid for their hard work, especially in a time when art and artist are being devalued across the country. Another major goal is to help our local theatre spaces keep their doors open. So, the Mountain Misfits Theatre Company charge no upfront cost to theatres for hosting our shows. Instead, we offer a 50/50 split of the house for each run of the production. So, no one has too much overhead and everyone gets a cut of the pie.
