Mark your calendars for the Museum’s oldest annual event in celebration of our nation’s independence. This fun-filled, family-oriented event includes live music performances, old fashioned kids’ games, a kids’ craft trail, costumed demonstrations in the Pioneer Park, and great food vendors, including Appalachy Mountain Kettle Corn and R & J Concessions.
This annual summer celebration is not to be missed!

Kids’ Games may include: a watermelon seed spitting contest, sack race, three-legged race, bubblegum-blowing contest, & more.
Kids’ Craft Trail (make-and-take crafts) include wooden stars, beaded necklaces, and wooden flags. All craft stations will be located in the picnic shelter area.
Costumed Demonstrations may include: blacksmithing, woodworking, butter making, tomahawk throwing, archery, & more.

1:00 – 2:30 Kids’ Games (Under the Willow Tree) Games include bubble gum blowing, watermelon seed spitting, stick horse & sack races.

3:00 – 3:30 Historical Program & Dancing the Virginia Reel on the Green
4:00 Event Conclusion
