Event Details

The 2023 Russell County Fair & Horse Show will be held September 1-10. Enjoy carnival rides, horse and livestock shows, truck pull, demolition derby, bull-riding, side-by-side racing, horse pull, pet show, games, exhibits, music, food, and so much more!

Fair Schedule:

Friday, Sept. 1

  • Team Roping – 6 to 10 p.m.
  • Live Music: Thomas Taylor – 7 p.m.
  • Live Music: Victor Lawson and Boogie Chillen – 8 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 2

  • Tractor Parade – 4 p.m.
  • Tractor Games – 4:30 p.m.
  • Antique Tractor Pull – 6 p.m.
  • Side-by-Side Drag Race – 6 p.m.
  • Ranch Rodeo – 6 p.m.
  • Live Music: Thomas Taylor – 7 p.m.
  • Live Music: The Great Big Hug – 8 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 3

  • Registration for All Home Economics, Agricultural, Art, and Commercial Exhibits – 2:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Vendors set up in Commercial Building – 2:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Scarecrow Competition – 2:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Desserts Bars Contest – 2:30 to 6 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 4

  • Special Interest Day: Veteran’s Day
  • Veteran’s Appreciation Breakfast – 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Judging of All Home Economics, Agricultural, Art, and Commercial Exhibits – 9:30 a.m.
  • Exhibit Buildings open after judging is complete
  • Commercial Building open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Judging of Halter Beef Cattle – 11 a.m.
  • Russell County Strongest Farm Hand Competition – 12 noon
  • Livestock Hall of Fame Dedication – 1 p.m.
  • 4-H Market Lamb Show – 4 p.m.
  • Pie Eating Contest – 6:30 p.m.
  • Demolition Derby – 7 p.m.
  • Powder Puff Derby – 7 p.m.
  • Live Music: Thomas Taylor – 7 p.m.
  • Live Music: If Birds Could Fly – 8 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 5 (Carnival Rides open 6 to 10 p.m.)
