LOVEwork at Appalachia

Appalachia’s LOVE sign is a three-dimensional representation of our area and incorporates our beautiful trails/mountains and rivers used for kayaking/fishing. It also includes a brown bear, local to our mountains; a side view of Washington Rock which is being developed as a tourist stop; two underground miners with pick and shovel in recognition of our coal mining heritage; the Dragon Slayer Route 160, which goes into Kentucky and is traveled by motor groups/bikers; and the town’s slogan “We Are Appalachia”.
