National Public Lands Day | St. Paul, Va

National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest, single – day volunteer effort for public lands and works to connect people to public lands in their community. Join Clinch River State Park in a beautification project that will involve the installation of split rail fencing on the Sugar Hill Unit in St. Paul. By doing this we hope to inspire environmental stewardship, and encourage use of public lands for education, recreation, and general health. Meeting location for this program will be at the UVA Wise Oxbow Center in St. Paul, VA Please wear close toed shoes. Park will provide snacks and drinks for the event.

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Public Lands Day each September by inviting volunteers and visitors to take part in the largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands in the country. Join in preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of the state’s public lands through a variety of hands-on activities, including trail maintenance, tree plantings, invasive species removal, litter clean-ups and educational programs on the importance of conservation. Parking fees are waived at most Virginia State Parks for National Public Lands Day (excludes Grayson Highlands and the admission fee at Natural Bridge and Southwest Virginia Museum).
